Whether you are an artist from Cork or an ice-cream man from Ballyhaunis you are probably way too busy in the day to day to spend your time learning the ins and outs of analytics or search engine optimization. Getting people to your site is not enough, you have to tailor the user experience in a way that increases revenue. Landing Pages are a great way to improve conversion. This allows you to customize the page your visitor lands on depending on what they where looking for. For example if you are are garden center you can show different pages to different customers. Customer A searches for gardening tips so you direct them to a page with tips and an option to sign up for a weekly tip newsletter whereas customer B just needs your company address to pick up some grass seeds and you customize their experience to best suit their needs.

Calls to action are very powerful when used correctly. What is important is that you inform your prospective customer of the value of taking your suggested course of action. Whether is it newsletter signups or product purchases, making sure your calls to action are optimized can make a big difference.

Always be closing

If you have seen glengarry glen ross then Al Pacino has probably taught you to ” always be closing”. Without attracting customers your site would have no visits. Without closing you are wasting your time attracting anyone. Fear not! There are tried and tested techniques to get the most out of your generated leads.

Analysis and testing allows you to try things out, get feedback and finally tweak your site to maximize close rates. Email marketing is another great way to follow up leads and remind them about the great products and value they will receive by choosing you.
